Block Paved Driveway in Bilton

Transforming a Block Paved Driveway in Bilton

Recently, we had the pleasure of helping a new homeowner in Bilton rejuvenate their block-paved driveway.

Moving into a new home is always exciting, but the state of their driveway was a bit of a dampener. Covered in moss and weeds, it dramatically affected the property’s appearance. We stepped in to bring back the driveway’s original charm, and the results were nothing short of amazing.

Here’s how we did it.

Removing Large Debris

Our first task was to clear the driveway of any large debris. This included fallen leaves, twigs, and other rubbish that had accumulated.

By removing these larger items first, we ensured that the subsequent pressure washing would be more effective, allowing us to focus on the more stubborn moss and weeds.

Tackling Weeds and Moss with the Turbo Lance

Due to the extensive moss and weed infestation, we couldn’t use our usual surface cleaner. Instead, we had to rely on the power of the turbo lance.

The turbo lance is a high-pressure nozzle attachment that delivers a concentrated stream of water, ideal for tackling tough, deep-seated grime.

We meticulously worked our way across the entire driveway, blasting away the moss and weeds embedded between the blocks. This step required precision and patience but was crucial for achieving a thorough cleaning.

Full Rinse Down

After removing the majority of the moss and weeds, it was time for a full rinse down. Using a high-pressure hose, we rinsed the driveway thoroughly to clear away all the loosened debris. This rinse-down ensured that the driveway was clean and ready for the next phase of treatment.

Chemical Application

Despite the extensive cleaning, some black spots still lingered on the driveway. To address this, we applied a specialized chemical treatment designed to penetrate and eliminate any residual black spot algae.

This chemical application was vital for ensuring that the driveway was not only clean but also free from any underlying contaminants that could cause future staining.

Final Rinse Down

After allowing the chemical to work its magic, we performed another rinse down to wash away the remaining chemical and any dissolved black spot residue.

This step ensured that the driveway was left spotless and free from any cleaning product residues.

Re-Sand the Driveway

A few days later, once the driveway had thoroughly dried, we returned to complete the job with a final touch: re-sanding. Sanding the joints between the blocks is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of the driveway and preventing weed growth.

We carefully applied fresh sand to the entire driveway, ensuring all the joints were filled and compacted.

A Stunning Transformation

The transformation was remarkable. The driveway went from a dirty, moss-covered eyesore to a clean, pristine surface that greatly enhanced the property’s curb appeal. The homeowner was thrilled with the results, noting that the driveway looked as good as new.

The difference was indeed amazing, showcasing the power of professional pressure washing and attention to detail.
